 Here's an overview of the technology now available, the production options, and how well and far the devices can travel.

Robert Strohmeyer describes how to buy a smartphone and the types of mobile phones available to us. If you're in need of a mobile device that manages your calendar, contacts, and synchronizes your business or personal data then a smartphone is what you need.

According to Strohmeyer, there's 6 types of smartphones.

  1. Blackberry
  2. Windows Mobile
  3. Palm
  4. Symbian
  5. iPhone
  6. Linux

GSM/EDGE/UMTS and CDMA/EV-DO are two types of technologies used to connect your smartphone. In the U.S. these technolgies are offered from the following carriers: AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, & T-Mobile.
